Tarah Hodgkinson – Simon Fraser University

Tarah Hodgkinson is a criminologist completing a doctorate at Simon Fraser University's School of Criminology in Burnaby British Columbia. Her specialization is in crime prevention using social development and environmental design, a field in which she has published research studies and recent trends. Currently she is focused on a newly-developed community development and crime prevention model called SafeGrowth®. She is completing certification in the SafeGrowth® method as project manager and trainer.

She has helped manage the organization and facilitation of Canada's annual National Policing Research conference, a program of the Government of Canada's Public Safety department.

She is a member of the American Society of Criminology and a senior researcher for INTER-RAI, a criminology research center of Simon Fraser University, where she is assisting the design of an intervention outline model for at risk youth. She is currently researching crime prevention through environmental design for auto-theft in British Columbia.
